We are working on a search for a client that is an innovator and manufacturer of Thermal Transfer Ribbons, Direct Thermal Films & Industrial & Digital Inkjet Inks for products used every day. They are in need of an experienced West Coast Regional Sales Manager to promote and sell their full line of labels, thermal transfer, and associated services to variable information printing specialists on the West coast. This is an established territory, and the position has a base salary in the range of $130K’s – $ 140K’s Base salary with a realistic 25% + bonus , and solid benefits. Our client is one of the leaders in the industry in these markets and applications, and this is an immediate need. Below is the job description for your review:

As the Regional Sales Manager, you will have direct revenue responsibility within a geographic region for 50-100 “Managed Accounts”. “Managed Accounts” are Distributors, VARs and OEMs which require outside sales representation for business reviews, sales/product training and opportunity development. As the Regional Sales Manager, you will lead efforts in your designated territory to grow strategic accounts while providing guidance to Account Executives in an overall effort to grow the company share in the market. This is a remote position, where our ideal candidate resides in the territory of West coast.



Manage and grow sales of variable printing, imaging, and marking consumables for assigned accounts and prospects

Establish plan to increase revenue within accounts which are directly managed and prospect for accounts with an annual revenue potential of $75k+. Document competitors share within accounts

Formulate strategy for prospecting and increasing label business within low share accounts in the region

Assist Account Executives in region by making face-to-face sales calls to uncover opportunities and to solidify company’s commitment to outstanding customer care

Develop proposals and negotiate within multiple levels and/or multiple locations in the customer organization. Coordinate agreements (letter, contract, etc.) between company and customers

Conduct trainings for distributor sales reps on product offerings, uses and sales opportunities

Coordinate company personnel across multiple functions to develop and deliver differentiated customer value

Effectively position company as an industry leader, expand product reach, promote company value-added services

Responsible for the attainment of established sales goals and management of assigned accounts

Analyze territory and account data, develop, and implement strategic and tactical account plans to ensure plans are being implemented maximize revenue and profitability

Effectively analyze existing database information to identify buying trends, opportunities, and concerns

Coordinate the available company resources to execute effective account management plan

Prepare reports and presentations for communicating sales progress, results, activity within the territory, while updating keeping up to date records on accounts in the CRM


Experience preferred:

Should be a natural conversationalist, outgoing, strategic, and organized

Will be familiar with the label industry, intimately understanding the market, key products, companies, and trends etc.

Can thrive at building relationships and understanding your customers’ pain points while turning them into opportunities

Can be an expert at listening and problem solving to determine where and how you can help your customers

Data driven and utilize technical resources to bring value to your work

Should have previous work experience in the office supply consumables industry


Desired experience :

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

Minimum of 6+ years of successful business-to-business label/print, sales experience required (office supply consumables)

Proven track record in demonstrating excellent communications and interpersonal skills

Strong bility to successfully interface with all levels within an account

Ability to identify revenue and margin growth opportunity; prepare and propose plans

Ability to work independently with limited supervision and use of good judgment in making sound business and pricing decisions and recommendations

Proven record of closing profitable negotiations

Ability to travel 40- 50% of the time; prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong analytical and PC skills to include MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), especially Excel Pivot Tables.

Experience in Labels, Variable print technology, Printed Consumables, Pressure sensitive paper, Packing and Print supply, not required but strongly preferred
