DESCRIPTION:

Key position in support of championing fabricated solutions presented by our new and existing customers. Assists the Inside Account Representatives and Sales Engineers in developing these solutions. Key ability for the position is solid knowledge of raw materials and manufacturing processes.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Trained on information in the Quality Environmental Management System documentation that pertain to this specific position. (Maintained and retained).  

Consult with Sales Engineers and/or Sales Manager to evaluate customer applications and recommend appropriate materials.

Help evaluate existing parts and when an uncommon raw material or outside the normal manufacturing process capabilities are called out.

Assist Sales Engineers with preparing for customer presentations by coordinating samples and prototypes for new and existing parts.

Meet and/or communicate with strategic and non-strategic raw material suppliers to continually learn new materials.

Generate price quotations for new materials (new and existing parts) with estimating and Sales Engineers.

Conduct internal training seminars to help continually educate employees on new and existing materials.

 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or one year to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
