We are seeking a Project Manager to join the Chicago team that will work specifically with key Medical OEM’s. You will work closely with several internal teams including sales, engineering, operations, and quality to ensure accurate cost estimating of custom die-cut component parts as well as manage a project schedule through prototype, production, and end-of-life. This position is accountable for project planning, design development, and execution, including creation of schedules, cost estimates, and scopes of work. Projects generally range in size from $250K to $10KK. Each project manager will be responsible for 5-15 projects in a given year.

The likely candidate will enjoy learning technical knowledge, have strong math skills and enjoy finding better ways to do things. To be successful in this role, he/she will need to be process-minded, able to juggle many projects simultaneously, time-efficient, and a great communicator with both our sales team and suppliers. A hard-working, roll-up your sleeves attitude is a must.

Responsibilities

• Lead a project team consisting of engineers, operations, sales, quality and raw material vendors to ensure all aspects of the project are properly considered.
• Effectively manage costs and schedule to drive toward best in industry
• Develop comprehensive project execution plans with focus on scope, cost, schedule, risk management, engineering, and procurement
• Monitor and report on performance of all projects regarding quality, cost, schedule, and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate raw material procurement with our purchasing so that it aligns with timing of production and safety stock guidelines
• Effectively communicate forecasts internally for capacity planning, future capital expenditures and externally for raw material planning
• Monitor job costs for profitability and consistently review for improvement options
• Recognize opportunities for value creation and innovation in the project management work processes

 

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree. Engineering preferred but not required
• 2+ years in a custom component manufacturing involving leading and coordinating projects with end users
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience in project management software similar to Microsoft MPP
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Strong math skills and experience in custom component cost accounting
• Impeccable organizational skills
• Experience reviewing 2D drawings in AutoCAD, Experience that will set you apart
• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years of experience in component manufacturing
• Experience in roll-to-roll processing industry – die-cutting, laminating, printing
• Proven track record of working with large medical OEM’s on new product design and production ramp
• Responsible for processes within an ISO13485 quality management system
*Travel: Travel commensurate with project requirements to carry out responsibilities. Travel up to 25%
