Summary:

The National Accounts Manager leads the commercial and account management functions for a
defined list of large strategic North American accounts in the organization. There is very high
expectation for growth in these accounts through solutions-based sales support, organizational
awareness and new product development. The role will interact with all levels of management to
influence and lead decision-makers and team leaders. The role is to define, lead, direct,
coordinate the company’s strategy and execution for the account, working with and through lines
of business, global regional production sites and leadership. Teamwork with North American &
global divisions is of paramount importance as is the ability to work well with respected
executive leaders for each customer. This position will be a member of the Executive Leadership
Team for GLM North America.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Account Management: Manages the daily sales activities including customer response,
quote follow-up, opportunity management and claims process

Value Added Selling: Combines internal core technologies and external customer needs
to create added value selling opportunities

Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead the company, both in N. America & globally where
appropriate to the single voice of the customer ensuring seamless execution of current &
new business

Support of Reps: Works with local territory representatives to cover tactical and
executional customer programming

Product Knowledge: Expert at key customers’ verticals while maintaining appropriate
product and industry knowledge

Commercial Leadership: Assists salespeople, customer service, and manufacturing to
solve problems and implement improved inter-company processes to satisfy customer
requirements.

Price Management: Assists marketing team in price management ensuring competitive
pricing, product mix & profit within key customers

S&OP: Develops and implements accurate sales forecasts and participates in scheduled
S&OP meetings

Planning: Develops the long-term strategy and annual strategy plans for assigned
accounts

Communication: Develop & lead sales presentations ensuring the message being
communicated to customer is relevant, solution-driven & on-target

Presentations: Leads sales & marketing presentations ensuring the message being
communicated to customers is on target

Travel: 70%. Travels to key decision makers & with sales representatives to meet customers to
develop new opportunities and provide product & service training

Technical Support: Educates technical team on key customers CTQ necessary to drive
seamless relationship allowing company to capitalize on new opportunities

Governance: Develop & own supply agreements, customer specific stocks, rebate offers
& other customer vehicles ensuring cross-functional alignments & corporate policies are
followed

Reporting: Provide weekly & monthly reports of key customer activities, opportunities &
forecasts vs. plans

 

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily.

 

Education and/or Experience:

• Relevant experience in lieu of education requirements.
• Minimum High School Graduate but prefer some Business Related College courses.
• 5 years of experience, minimum, in a manufacturing leadership role.
• Ability to multi-task and solve problems.
• Professional, organized, diligent and a logical thinker.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer based applications including
Syteline.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of
employees
• Good communication skills and the ability to communicate with multiple levels of
organization from production floor to management

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral
instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized
situations.

The ability to recognize and evaluate technical issues and limitations is required. The ability to
define and manage expectations is critical. The ability to make sound decisions and actions is
required.

Ability to access risk associated with product compliance and regulation and awareness of when to
communicate changes to risk.

vision such as reading handwritten and or typed material and having the ability to stay focused.

 

Direct Reports:

This job has no current has no supervisory responsibilities, however, as the company grows with
National Accounts, we do expect to hire additional commercial resources that will report to this
role.
