Job Description:
The National Sales Manager develops and leads the company’s sales and marketing efforts to maintain our current customer base, develop new leads and acquire new customers. This role is responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation, quoting, onboarding, and customer visits.
Your direct reports will consist of the sales team employed by the company, covering strategic geographic regions. You would provide additional support direction and coordination in the way of ride a longs with your sales team, project development, onboarding new business and working alongside the customer support team for the achievement of customer satisfaction and revenue generation. This position will be a located at the corporate headquarters in Tucson in Arizona and will report to directly to the Vice President. Traveling to customer sites to develop new business, respond to customer issues, maintain relationships and such will be expected 1-2 weeks of each month. This company is offering about $150k base salary for this position.
Experience:
This position will require a background in wide web printing and flexible packaging sales, having sold,
developed, and managed your own personal active book of business and directly managed a sales team.
Technical Skills:
The following technical skills, expertise and familiarity will be required for this position. Having
worked with all or most of the following:
Wide web flexographic printing Solventless and/or water-based laminations.
Variety of film types and structures based on application. Ie: BOPP, PET’s, NYLON, Coated Films, barrier films, CPP, PE, cosmetic webs, recyclable films, compostable films and more.
OPV coatings to control COF, static, gloss, matt, soft touch.
Understanding of seal types including fin seal, lap seal, pouches, lidding and more.
Understanding of different pouch formats including standup pouches, flat bottom, zippers, double cuts, tear notch etc.
Know of various packaging equipment utilized by end users including VFFS and HFFS.
Line and process print; familiar with different types of photopolymer plates and sleeves. Including Kodak and other plate material Structures as they apply to food packaging, frozen foods, dry foods, bakery, nutraceuticals, coffee, bottle label, pouches, produce and more.
Familiar with pre-press and artwork process. Should have a basic understanding of die-lines, layouts, PDFs, plate-ready files, surface or reverse printed.
Mechanical aptitude to assist diagnosis and troubleshoot on various customer equipment.
Laser perforations and laser scoring as it relates to necessary markets.
Requirements:
Providing excellent customer satisfaction with timely and accurate information and managing the onboarding and transition of new business and projects from start to finish.
Thorough understanding of flexographic printing process and flexible packaging market.
Work in a team environment; communicating, and assisting customer service, production, scheduling, and sales team.
Create effective and strategic sales and marketing plans focused on developing growth in key markets.
Possess excellent problem solving and innovative thinking skills
Self-starter with ability to build business in new territories and develop business in new markets.

Duties:
Lead, manage and are responsible for the performance of a sales team that will directly report to you.
Develops strategic sales goals and coordinates sales activities of remote Sales Representatives
Recruit, hire, and train new sales candidates.
Review and approve staff expense reports
Ride along with sales rep in their respective territories, supporting new and existing customers. 2x per year
Measure results and hold accountable sales team’s production based on sales plans, realistic targets vs actual sales.
Develop, maintain and onboard your own book of business.
Create a detailed annual sales plan to be submitted for approval. This plan should be realistic and include your own book of business along with that of your sales team as well as manufacturing reps.
Quoting, negotiating, sourcing, bidding, and providing timely information back to customers and the sales team.
Coordinate and attend relevant trade shows both as an attendee and exhibitor.
Visit potential and existing customers to maintain relationships, have a presence, address customers issues, concerns and maintain overall customer satisfaction.
Attend new job meetings and collaborate with all departments to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of onboarding new business, jobs and projects.
Attend relevant meetings with company vendors.
Convert sales leads into new account opportunities into closed business.
Create value for prospective customers by seeking to understand their business, concerns, and opportunities. Link solutions and resources to customer needs and differentiate solutions from competing alternatives.
Identify and take advantage of opportunities to grow existing accounts and acquire new business
Coordinate resources and external contacts to drive sales growth.

Frequently visiting customers to build and maintain relationships, address concerns will create the company as their go-to
supplier for flexible packaging. Understanding the company’s core competencies and targeting customers that are “fit”
reduces transitional friction allows a smooth transition of new business.
Finally, not being afraid to jump-in and provide support to the company’s team when necessary to keep projects moving
along. This role is the first line of communication to the customer and to the company’s team. Action as a liaison between
the customer and the company is of utmost important to ensuring information, supply chain and products are successful.
